2nd band: (9pm) John Henry Velez:  http://www.myspace.com/johnhenrysolo A good friend of the band.  Nate first heard John Henry at an open mic in East Atlanta.  (Blue Frog Cantina on Wednesday nights.  Hello Belinda!)   John Henry’s has the total package; awesome voice, great guitar playing skills, and some great tracks on his myspace.

He is on the top of “who will make it famous before The First Stone will” list.  A hilarious guy on stage who is always cracking jokes and making a great night for everyone there.  Come out and see our good friend John Henry with us.

He’ll probably be a little upset that we used the most god-awful picture we could find of him, but hey, what are friends for?  Don’t miss John Henry Velez because he’s going to rock the house.

Hey fans!

Its been quite some time since we’ve had an update to our fans. We have a lot of things going on.

First, Dave, our bass player, has decided that he will be leaving the band. Dave is a great guy and we wish him the best of luck. His long flowing hair, and amazing bass-slappin’ will be missed.

Second, we have found another bass player. His name is Terry and he is a bad-ass. We’ve had a few practices with him and he really adds a different dimension to the band. We can’t wait to showcase him.

Speaking of that…. Terry’s first show with the band will be on Friday and we have invited you to the show through the attached link.

Last, we have new music. A few months ago, Dave (old bass player) went to the studio with us and laid down the tracks that we had been writing. They are pretty amazing.  We will upload the new tracks here very soon.

We’re still in “writing mode” and our gig on Friday at Rev Coffee will be the last gig for a while until we can get our new cd released and have a big CD RELEASE PARTY! We can’t wait! So, we’re signing off for now, but we’d love to see you on Friday. It’s an all ages show and its with our friends from I’m Chinese. Hello Hello……  So, it’s been a while since our last update so I wanted to fill everyone in on all things new with The First Stone.  Nate bought a car!!!!  WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW AWESOME THIS IS so look for Nate and I to hit the ground running with a batch of acoustic appearances this spring.  We’ve been visiting Eddie’s Attic and have had a blast.  That place is just so full of amazing songwriters from all over the country on any given monday night that it really is inspiring and motivating at the same time.  You can also catch Nate and I at Zucca in Smyrna thursday nights for the next month.

We have the tracking almost complete for 5 songs (which are rockin!)…with another 3 (Sandbox, Traveling Salesman, and Settle Down) that we want to record to choose the best 4-5 for the upcoming EP.  The other 3 will feature a heavy dose of piano and represents some of our best work to date.  I’m very excited about the new stuff and  really feel like it shows how much we’ve grown as a group after the last year of playing shows.  Stay tuned as we should have everything finished and mastered by mid-summer.  You can also get our first record at itunes so please drop by and leave your review.

I’ve been all over the place in the past 3 months with several trips to the west coast so we really have taken some time away from each other to regroup and come back fresh. It’s important for all of us to keep it fun so the time off was really good.

Looks like you are in for a treat.  We just got word from Ten High that we’ll be sharing the bill with some great bands on December 1st.  Please check them out.  They are I’m Chinese and Detroit Mutant Radio.

We just booked a great grouping of shows, but we’re only gonna tell you about one for right now!  The first one is at TNS in East Atlanta which is a great new venue for music.  They recently started promoting their Friday and Saturday nights with live music and DJs.  Its has been a great success and you can see it from the pictures below.  The night starts at 11pm and has two great bands.  The first band is That 30/60 band which has a great “chill” vibe and almost reminds us of Sublime????  Almost…  Pretty good though.  Don’t miss them.  They have a new album out and it is titled “The Four In One Sessions.”  Be sure to check out their myspace at:  http://www.myspace.com/that3060.

Also up that night will be “Slammin’ Betty” from Covington.  Their music is Rock/Classic Rock/Southern Rock and from their pictures, they are some crazy dudes.  Check out their music on their myspace at: http://www.myspace.com/slamminbettyband.

The night will be lots of fun and we’ll be debuting some new songs we have written in the past few weeks.  $4 cover includes a free “Ball Breaker” shot….(whatever that is…. we’ll just have to find out!)  Also, Dave will be singing Kwanza, Christmas, Chanukah songs to get everyone in the Christmas spirit!  Come on out and enjoy the great music.  Hope to see you there!

Hey fans!

We just booked a new show at 10 High/Dark Horse Tavern in Atlanta with a few other bands TBA on December 1st.  Cost is just $5.00 and 21+.  Hope to see ya’ll there.

We’ve been writing a lot of great music lately and we’re proud to announce our new EP CD in 2010 will be ready for pre-order very soon.  This album will be different from Quarter To Never with a better, bolder sound and some big names helping produce this.  For more information and updates, please sign up for our street team or email list on the right hand page of the website and we’ll keep you in the loop.

Also, we FINALLY booked an all ages show at The Masquerade in Atlanta with a bunch of great bands also TBA.  The event is with Spectra Records (http://www.spectrarecords.com) and Rolling Stone Magazine.  No date nailed down yet, but more information to come by Friday.  Email us:  info@thefirststone.com to get your pre-order tix for this all ages show.  It will sell out and we’ve only been allotted 100 tickets.  Thats all for now.

Hey ya’ll,

We’ve got some great things coming.  It has been an incredible week!  Tuesday night, we had a packed show at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta, GA and cut a live album that will be available VERY soon.  Then, Wednesday night, we played at The Five Spot and it was broadcast streaming on the web through DirtySouthTV.tv.  The interview has been posted on the home page for you to watch and listen.
This weekend (tonight), we’re back at the famous Southern Tracks Studio in Atlanta, GA recording some new tracks for our new album.  For those of you who were at our Smith’s Olde bar show on Tuesday, you were able to hear some of the new tracks.  We’re glad they were well received.  As a treat, we’ll be broadcasting the process live tonight through http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-first-stone, or you can view the live stream below.
