Adrian Vera will be playing with The First Stone at Smith's Olde Bar on October 13th at 7:00pm.

What’s up ya’ll?!

We’re in for a special night at Smith’s Olde Bar.  They just added Adrian Vera to the line-up on October 13th.  Adrian Vera is from Los Angeles, California and will only be in Atlanta for one night, so please be sure to check out his music as well.  His myspace is at:  http://www.myspace.com/adrianveramusic and below, there is a video.  Right now, he is recording new music and I think he has removed the old music on the myspace page to prepare for the new tunes.  Seriously, folks, this seems like a big night.  Below, is his bio from the myspace page:

“To call the progression of Adrian Vera’s music a “roller coaster ride”, would be an extreme understatement. It is by no accident, that Adrian Vera’s sound is what it is and carries that epic quality. The sound is a result of Adrian’s talent and hard work, while all along ensuring that the music remained in Spanish, despite strong English Label pressure to do otherwise. “I refused to join the redundancy I felt was going on in Latin pop rock, and knew this would make it much harder to get Latin label interest. It didn’t matter to me, as long as the music was as true and as large as it could be” Once Adrian met acclaimed producer engineer Caram Costanzo (Guns N Roses, Pearl Jam, Elton John), he knew there was no other way of achieving the sound he wanted.. “We went through a usual suspects list of Latin producers, but there was no one who really grasped the concept like Caram. He being an American producer added a fresher dynamic, which could stray us away from falling into the rut of sounding like other Latin artist.” As luck would have it, Costanzo was in the midst of producing the long awaited Guns N Roses album “Chinese Democracy” and was not available. Refusing to work with anyone else, Adrian threw away convenient studio accommodations and scheduling and began to record in Costanzo’s home studio, on off time from the GNR project. The sacrifice was well worth it in the end. With Caram producing and Eric Caudieux (Guns N Roses, Kanye West) engineering, Adrian Vera was able to achieve the larger than life epic rock sound that he sought after, and best of all, it was in Spanish!! “

The Smith’s Olde Bar show is on October 13th at 7:00pm during Smith’s regular “3 for 5″ night.  3 bands, $5 bucks.  Must be 21+ to come and don’t forget to bring a friend.  We still have a few free tickets available and we’re looking to have a great night.  See you soon!

We just booked a great show at The Five Spot in Atlanta, GA on October 14th at 9:45pm. The best part of this show is that you don’t even have to come to the show to see us play. It will be broadcast live on DirtySouthTV.tv so you can watch it in your underwear(If you want to, that is…. weirdos!)

Hey ya’ll!

Its been a while since we updated everyone.  Officially, we have 13 days left until our Smith’s Olde Bar show.  It will be the biggest show of the year.  Since the band’s new album “Quarter To Never” which was released in January, we have been writing bolder, better songs and preparing for this HUGE show!  Our fan base has really grown and we have played some great shows since then.

The show is on October 13th at Smith’s Olde Bar at 7:00 pm.

Cover is $5 and it’s 21+.

Also, there has been a change for our show at The North River Tavern on November 6th.  Taylor Moore from Greenville, SC will be joining us that night.  Unfortunately, Stone Mountain West could not make it.  The North River Tavern is a great place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night and best part of all, it is a FREE show.  Come check us out on November 6th as well.

Right To Hike, Inc. is dedicated to celebrating the life of our friend, Meredith Hope Emerson through raising funds and awareness for causes close to Meredith’s heart.  We hope to honor her memory by sharing her courage, love of the outdoors and belief that all people have the right to live without fear.

We had  great time last night at Lenny’s Bar and want to thank every one that came out and Lenny’s Bar for having us and the other great bands.  Thanks again to Mog Rocket, Shadow Boxer, Dayglo Dago, & The Humboldt Trio!  The drummer from The Humboldt Trio is just amazing and their guitar player’s tone is just sick!

One of the special few we’d like to thank is Wade Keeton from Atlanta Live Recording! He is an AMAZING photographer and really knows how to take great shots!  We posted a few new pictures on our pictures page, so be sure to check them out and here are a few below for you to look at in the mean time.

We have had a confusing past few days.  On Monday, we were informed that The Scene in Marietta was closing, but as of 4:30 this morning, they have gone under new management.

So, great news all-around!  And a great part:  $10 cover gets you in and a friend!  So, its like $5/per person.  I wonder why they didn’t just say that!  So, come on out to our show at The Scene in Marietta!

Hey all!

Bad news.  Our show at The Scene on August 29th has been canceled.  Not only our show was canceled, but ALL shows at The Scene in Marietta, GA have been canceled.  Art Lea with Armageddon Entertainment had this to say about the cancellation of all shows at The Scene in Marietta, GA:

“It is with much regret that I tell you we’re shutting things down for now. The Scene is a great venue and the owner is a good friend of mine but consistantly covering the cost for outside sound and light companies has just become unreasonable. I worked 9 hours at the last show and had to cut a check out of my personal account to pay the production people and can no longer do that. If I had a venue that had it’s own sound and lights, I could pack it out all the time and everyone would get paid. I haven’t made a dime at The Scene in over a month and though I love throwing rock shows… I gotta pay bills too. Thank you to every band that has ever booked with me, it has been so much fun. I’m talking to all the venues around Atlanta and if I can help you get booked some place else… I will.
My relationship with the venue is in tact and we might do some big things there in the future. As soon as I find another venue that has it’s own sound and lights and is ready to throw down… I’ll let you know.

So, it looks like The Scene won’t have bands play for a while.  When we last checked the Scene calendar, about 50 bands have been affected by this cancellation of shows.  Hopefully, the Scene will be open again because it was a great ALL AGES venue for our fans to come and see the band!  The full list of bands affected is shown in the picture to the right.  We’d love for this venue to re-open, so please take the time to email their myspace at:  http://www.myspace.com/thescenevenue
